The restaurant was cozy? The server in charge of us was very alert, always checking on is to see how we're doing and how we're enjoying our food. The greatest part was we were seated in front of the tv where we can watch the SEA-Niners game. My daughter ordered clam chowder (something light since she was scheduled to go out with her friends a few minutes after), my son got salad and something else and my youngest daughter got salmon with wild rice and strawberry lemonade. For our main dish, I shared the Mixed Seafood grill with my hubby. We came in second and we ordered calamari and crab cakes for appetizers. The first group with my mom who was starving arrived first. is a bit pricey but the servings are huge, can definitely be shared by 2 people and they taste good. There were 28 of us and the restaurant was able to accommodate all of us. We ended up here after a convoy of families in cars touring San Francisco in search of a place to eat on one very rainy San Francisco day. I will definitely plan a return visit on my next trip to the Bay Area and would wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to either locals or tourists looking for a delicious meal at reasonable prices with exceptional service. The Fog Harbor Fish House is well deserving of its many positive reviews. The entrees were nicely portioned and BOTH meals were absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced for seafood meals. My traveling companion chose for her entree the Mixed Grill, which consisted of:Grilled Salmon, Pacific cod and Shrimp, citrus beurre blanc, sauteed vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes. We ordered the Blue Cheese Garlic Bread which was delicious, and at the suggestion of Gia, was able to order an off menu entree of Crab Cakes that came with two sides: I chose rice and sauteed green beans. She was friendly, knowledgeable, prompt, attentive and went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was both enjoyable and memorable. The wait turned out to be a mere ten minutes. The hostesses were friendly, helpful and polite and explained that there would be a 15-30 minute wait which seemed reasonable for a holiday weekend evening at dinnertime. certainly does not apply to the Fog Harbor Fish House. Normally try to avoid the touristy area eateries as they tend to be way over priced with mediocre service and less than memorable food however, I must say that that generalization. Visiting San Francisco for MLK weekend and was near Pier 39 around dinner time.
